Sports & Therapeutic/Accessible Recreation
Our mission is to provide specialized, therapeutic, accessible recreation, and adaptive sports to children with a wide range of challenges and disabilities.
Our goal is to leave no child left behind due to the degree of challenges, be it physical, mental, emotional, or neurological.
Our history - Our program was founded in 2003 by Renee Gamberoni and Max Goode. Seeing a great need in our community for recreation and sports for children with special needs, the Nantucket S.T.A.R. Program was formed. Now, alongside their peers, children on Nantucket with special needs have access to sports, after-school activities and play-groups.
